Diferencias de género en la participación en competiciones entre tenistas júnior según la edad

Resumen

El objetivo de este estudio fue analizar el nivel de participación de los tenistas júnior en competiciones nacionales en función de la edad y el género. Los autores realizaron una investigación cuantitativa mediante un análisis comparativo y descriptivo, basado en la documentación y los datos relativos al número de participantes de los informes oficiales de los torneos nacionales (TDP) reconocidos por la PELTI durante el período 2024. Se seleccionaron aleatoriamente un total de 14 campeonatos nacionales de tenis, en los que participaron 2.580 jugadores. Los resultados indicaron que la participación de los jugadores júnior en las competiciones nacionales difería significativamente según el género (p < 0,05). Descriptivamente, el número medio de participantes masculinos fue superior al de participantes femeninas. No se observaron diferencias estadísticamente significativas en la participación de los jugadores júnior entre los diferentes grupos de edad (A10, A12, A14 y A16) (p > 0,05). Descriptivamente, los niveles más bajos de participación se observaron en las categorías de edad A10 y A16. Se espera que los resultados de este estudio sirvan como consideración para la determinación de políticas en el ámbito del tenis y como referencia para investigaciones más exhaustivas.
