Author Guidelines

SPORT TK-Euromerican Journal of Sport Sciences, is a journal in which papers of a scientific nature that contribute to the progress of Sport Sciences are published, and production follows high quality methodological processes. The Journal was edited semiannually (with two issues per year) until 2021. Since January 1, 2022, this journal has a continuous publishing model, with one volume per year, and the accepted papers are published in the current volume during the whole year. All published articles are assigned a permanent Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to ensure persistent identification, citation and online accessibility.

The objective of SPORT TK is to gather papers of theoretical and empirical nature, giving priority those in which the topics are currently relevant and of scientific relevance, making interdisciplinary collaboration one of the objectives of this journal. The area of influence of Sport TK-Euromerican Journal of Sport Sciences, through its indexation and through the nationalities of its authors is international.

The papers published in SPORT TK-Euromerican Journal of Sport Sciences, may be published in Spanish and English. In any case, the title, abstract and key words must be presented in both Spanish and English.

The papers should be unpublished. Those papers that have already been published (totally or partially), or those that are in the process or have been presented to be published in another journal will not be admitted. The accordance of the authors and those quoted as sources of personal communication are expected.

The manuscripts are submitted through this webpage. SPORT TK-Euromerican Journal of Sport Sciences uses the Journal Editing System “Open Journal Systems (OJS)”, and it is necessary to state the names of all the authors and their data. Their data generally consists of their Department, Institution, City and Country. It is also necessary for them to state the email addresses of each author, as well as the email address to which any petition for more documentation or corrections can be sent. It is also recommended that post codes and telephone numbers are included. All authors are strongly encouraged to provide their ORCID iD by including it in their user profile and during the manuscript submission process.

All data of authors will be included only in the metadata of the submission, since the Word file of the article must be completely anonymous. The maximum number of pages of the Word file is 25, spacing between lines is to be set at 1,5, margins of 2 centimeters, justified text and the type of lettering is to be Times New Roman, size 12. On the first page, there must be the article title (in both Spanish and English), the abstract that has a maximum of 200 words (in both Spanish and English), as well as Key Words (also in Spanish and English).

The references of the paper must appear in the Word file, but it is also mandatory to upload them in the metadata of the submission on this website. A paragraph break must be entered between each reference.

The papers sent to Sport TK-Euromerican Journal of Sport Sciences must be prepared in accordance to APA style, following the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 7th edition (http://www.apastyle.org/).

Authors retain the copyright of all articles published in SPORT TK-EuroAmerican Journal of Sport Sciences. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, which permits use, distribution and reproduction in accordance with the terms of the license. It is also understood that the opinions expressed in the articles do not necessarily represent the opinions and scientific policies of SPORT TK-Euromerican Journal of Sport Sciences, the author being exclusively responsible for them. Equally, the activities described within the articles should conform with the current rules and regulations, both for experimentation as well as anything related with professional deontology. SPORT TK-Euromerican Journal for Sport Sciences, may ask the authors for copies of any material related to the experiments that is considered relevant.

DESIRABLE QUALITY CRITERIA

Originality, methodological consistency, subject matter of interest and a significant contribution, of foreseeable relevance and impact (academic and/or practical), guided by ethical and deontological criteria, respectful of all agents and participants affected and with a clear, brief and well-ordered writing style.

MAIN REASONS FOR REJECTION

Currently, the Journal rejects a high percentage of contributions. The main reasons for rejection are:

It does not strictly adhere to editorial standards in terms of content or format: citation in accordance with APA 7th ed. standards, bibliographic references in accordance with APA 7th ed. standards, etc., or is in process of evaluation by another journal.

There are dishonest practices: plagiarism, self-plagiarism or scientific fraud.

There is no newness, or the subject is not sufficiently relevant.

It does not include the main resources of the subject, lacks updated references and national and international impact.

No abstract, keywords and title in Spanish and English.

The abstract is not written in direct style, as a synthesis of approach, methodology and main results.

It uses a complicated discourse. Ignores that the journal is international. Do not use short, direct sentences.

The article has no results. It is not clear whether it is the result of a research, personal reflection, a theoretical review ...

It has a high number of references.

Do not take into consideration what has already been published in the Journal on the same subject.

Dishonest practices: plagiarism and scientific fraud

PUBLICATION ETHICS AND MALPRACTICE STATEMENT

Statement of Ethics

The SPORT TK- EuroAmerican Journal of Sport Sciences shares the principles established by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICJME), World Association of Medical Editors (WAME) and Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). 

Editors' responsibilities

• To act in a balanced, objective and fair way while carrying out their expected duties, without discrimination on grounds of gender, sexual orientation, religious or political beliefs, ethnic or geographical origin of the authors.
• Ensure that manuscripts are considered and accepted based only on their academic merit.
• To adopt and follow reasonable procedures in the event of complaints of an ethical or conflict nature. All complaints should be investigated no matter when the original publication was approved. Documentation associated with any such complaints should be retained.

Reviewers' responsibilities

• To contribute to the decision-making process, and to assist in improving the quality of the published paper by reviewing the manuscript objectively, in a timely manner.
• To maintain the confidentiality of any information supplied by the editor or author. To not retain or copy the manuscript.
• To alert the editor to any published or submitted content that is substantially similar to that under review.
• To be aware of any potential conflicts of interest (financial, institutional, collaborative or other relationships between the reviewer and author) and to alert the editor to these, if necessary withdrawing their services for that manuscript.

Authors' responsibilities

• To maintain accurate records of data associated with their submitted manuscript, and to supply or provide access to these data, on reasonable request. Where appropriate and where allowed by employer, funding body and others who might have an interest, to deposit data in a suitable repository or storage location, for sharing and further use by others.
• To confirm/assert that the manuscript as submitted is not under consideration or accepted for publication elsewhere.
• To confirm that all the work in the submitted manuscript is original and to acknowledge and cite content reproduced from other sources. To obtain permission to reproduce any content from other sources.
• Authors should ensure that any studies involving human or animal subjects conform to national, local and institutional laws and requirements.
• To declare any potential conflicts of interest
• To notify promptly the journal editor or publisher if a significant error in their publication is identified.

Publisher's responsibilities

• Ensure that good practices are being maintained in accordance with the standards described above.
• Ensure they subscribe to the principles described above.

Procedures for dealing with unethical behaviour

In accordance with the Intellectual Property Law regarding actions and procedures that may be taken against those who infringe intellectual property rights, the publication of a work that infringes these rights will be under the responsibility of authors, who will assume the conflicts that may arise for copyright reasons. The most significant conflicts may arise from the commission of scientific plagiarism and fraud. Plagiarism means: submitting another's work as one's own, adopting words or ideas of other authors without due recognition, not employing quotation marks in a literal quotation, giving incorrect information about the true source of a quotation, or abusive paraphrasing (even if the source is mentioned).

The practices which constitute scientific fraud are the following: making, falsifying or omitting data and plagiarism; duplicate publication or self-plagiarism; conflicts of authorship. Violation of ethical criteria will result in the rejection of the manuscript.

USE OF GENERATIVE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

The use of generative artificial intelligence tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude or similar tools) in the preparation of the manuscript must be transparently disclosed at the time of submission. Such tools cannot be listed as authors, and the authors remain fully responsible for the content of the manuscript.
