Eficacia percibida del entrenador, entrenamiento caracterizado por la indiferencia hacia las necesidades y compromiso del deportista: evaluación del efecto de la mediación sobre las intenciones de los jóvenes jugadores de voleibol de abandonar el deporte

Existen numerosas razones detrás de la decisión de los jóvenes deportistas de retirarse del deporte. En la mayoría de los casos, esta decisión está influida por diversos factores, entre ellos, la calidad de la relación interpersonal entre el entrenador y el deportista, así como las competencias profesionales del entrenador. El objetivo de este estudio fue determinar cómo el compromiso del deportista, la eficacia percibida del entrenador y el entrenamiento caracterizado por la indiferencia hacia las necesidades explican las intenciones de los jóvenes deportistas de abandonar el deporte. Se realizó una encuesta mediante un cuestionario en línea a 317 jugadores de voleibol lituanos de entre 12 y 19 años (38,2 % hombres y 61,8 % mujeres). Se realizaron análisis estadísticos descriptivos y de correlación mediante SPSS 28.0, así como un análisis de regresión jerárquica utilizando el macro PROCESS (Módulo 6) de SPSS. Los resultados revelaron que existe una relación entre el compromiso de los deportistas, la eficacia percibida del entrenador y las intenciones de abandonar el deporte. El compromiso tuvo un efecto directo sobre las intenciones de abandonar el deporte y un efecto indirecto a través de dos variables mediadoras: la eficacia percibida del entrenador y el entrenamiento caracterizado por la indiferencia hacia las necesidades (p < 0,05). Asimismo, la eficacia del entrenador tuvo un efecto indirecto sobre las intenciones de abandonar el deporte a través de los mediadores compromiso y entrenamiento caracterizado por la indiferencia hacia las necesidades (p < 0,05); sin embargo, estos mediadores actuaron de manera independiente y no de forma serial. Estos resultados pueden ayudar a los entrenadores a desarrollar estrategias orientadas a mejorar el compromiso de los deportistas, reforzando así sus experiencias positivas en el deporte y sus intenciones de continuar participando en él.
