Cartografiando el panorama del derecho deportivo: un análisis bibliométrico

El objetivo de este estudio fue examinar el campo de investigación del derecho deportivo mediante técnicas bibliométricas, destacando las tendencias temáticas, los enfoques de estudio y la evolución del discurso jurídico. El estudio resalta la transformación del derecho deportivo en un ámbito interdisciplinario que integra la gobernanza, la salud, los derechos humanos y el arbitraje. El estudio utiliza un análisis bibliométrico basado en datos de la base de datos Scopus correspondientes al período comprendido entre 1983 y 2025. VOSviewer se empleó para realizar análisis de coocurrencia, agrupamiento y redes. Se identifican los patrones de publicación, los países líderes, las principales áreas temáticas y las relaciones entre palabras clave, proporcionando una evaluación sistemática del desarrollo del campo. Se observa un aumento significativo de las publicaciones desde 2010, con picos máximos en 2021 y 2024. Estados Unidos y el Reino Unido son los principales contribuyentes, mientras que las Ciencias Sociales representan la mayor proporción de publicaciones. Emergen cuatro grupos temáticos principales: arbitraje y derechos fundamentales, bienestar de los atletas, gobernanza regulatoria y cuestiones jurídicas relacionadas con el dopaje y la equidad. El análisis de palabras clave identifica «derecho deportivo» (sports law) como el término central, junto con conceptos como arbitraje, antidopaje y derechos humanos. Los hallazgos ayudan a responsables políticos, académicos del derecho y organizaciones deportivas a comprender las tendencias de investigación, apoyar la formulación de políticas fundamentadas y abordar cuestiones relacionadas con el dopaje, la discriminación y los derechos de los atletas. Este estudio constituye uno de los pocos análisis bibliométricos integrales sobre derecho deportivo, conectando el conocimiento académico con las necesidades jurídicas y sociales prácticas.
